Hello everyone,

I wanted to show you a modification that I think should be done on the rocker bearing.

On my various engines, all the rockers show traces of ‘abnormal’ wear, that is to say that the rocker bearing caps are badly positioned because of the play between the stud holes and the studs themselves. So I installed centring studs to ensure that the rocker bearings were perfectly aligned.

I'm lucky enough to have an almost new set rockers,I polished it with sandpaper

I reduced it with sandpaper the part of my centering pin that goes into the hat side so that it slides in my rockers.
To do this, I made a steel round that fits perfectly without play in the place of the rockers to align the bearings. Then I centred myself on 2 diagonal stud holes then milled with an 8.00mm milling cutter (easier for me here in France) to a depth of 20.50mm (the centring pin is 20.00mm long) and I used HONDA centring pin (reference Honda 94301-08200).

I reduced it with sandpaper the part of my centering pin that goes into the hat side so that it slides in.

Here are a few photos.
