DanCMP
Would anybody happen to have any information on these trailers? Whilst viewing something else in a vehicle graveyard this evening I spotted one in the undergrowth. I couldn’t get a photo of the trailer due to brambles but managed a photo of the makers plate. The contract plate needs a quick rub with scotch-brite before it’s legible. I can’t seem to find anything online about them, but it’s a 4-wheeled drawbar trailer on 7.50-20 tyres, with rounded mudguards front and rear. Wheels are split rims with locking rings. It’s a dropside around 14 feet in length and around 6/7 feet wide. Is there a chance it’s wartime? Cheers, Dan
ted angus
I can confirm the Raf used a 5ton 2axle dropside tasker trailer. I am sure i have a pic in one of my paper files. Might take me while, the dreaded C has got me at the moment but I will find it and scan it to share as soon as i summon some strength. DanCMP
Thanks for your replies gents. If it’s not scrapped by then, I’ll have a scrub at the army contract plate to establish the build date when we head over to collect what we bought.
