Chris R
I am making a 1/32 scale model of a WW1 Despatch rider to go with a Clyno Vickers motorcycle model. I am trying to get the uniform colours right. I note in an earlier post that Tony B suggested the despatch riders coat would be a Pytchley rubber riding Mack. Can anyone please give me an idea of the colour of such a Mack. Many thanks
MatchFuzee
Hopefully some interesting reading, but without a difinative answer. From the Ground sheet and rain capes topic:- Hence Ground sheets were a variety of military colours from a Light khaki to Green and many shades in between. https://www.greatwarforum.org/topic/27870-ground-sheet-an-rain-capes/
Chris R
Hi MatchMuzee Thank you very much for your quick post to my query. The discussion re capes/ground sheets was fascinating -very impressive depth of knowledge of contributors. The photos were also very helpful and a couple seem to show a "shine" on the material. So I think I will try in the range light khaki to green and make it semi gloss. In an old post (see attached) Tony B says he has worn Pytchley riding macks..Is it possible to contact individuals on the forum? He might know the colour. Many thanks again Chris
