MartynXM655 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 Hi - I am new to this site and hoping someone out there can help - I am a volunteer with Avro Vulcan XM655 at Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, and am currently restoring a standardised airfield bomb transporter (SABT). It was discover in a boat yard where it was used as a boat trailer, a major problem is that the brake master cylinder is very badly corroded. I am trying to find out a part number/manufacturer to search for a replacement. As it was attached to a Lockheed trailer over-run/hand brake mechanism I am assuming it is a Lockheed unit, but on-line searches have not successful. One supplier of vintage master cylinders suggests it may be a unique military design as he has not seen this type before. It has an 1-1/2" bore, three hole mounting flange and a single outlet. The main difference to most designs is that the piston has a solid extension that interfaces with the over-run assembly, instead of a pushrod. Any help identifying it or pointing me in the direction of of a spare (even a non-working sample) would be greatly appreciated MartynXM655 Quote
