Bowen
Hello, I'm Andy Bowen, I haven't been in the services but have been involved in the classic and earlier vehicle world for quite some time. I'm selling the vehicle belowon behalf of a lady whose husband has recently passed away. She has a 1936 Hillman 80 (Hawk series) which needs finishing. Mileage (original) -6000. It was based with the 1st Cavalry Battalion in Aldershot from 1936 until 1945 when it was sold and put into private ownership. Since then it's had 3 owners but was until recently in a deplorable condition. The latest owner had started restoration but had to give because of various health reasons. There is photographic evidence of the condition and subsequent partial restoration. Also there is an Instruction book (1936 edition) in which there's text about the vehicle's time with the military showing the car licence no, registration no, and the WD car number. Also with the documentation, there is a letter from Mike Worthington-Williams suggesting that this maybe the car that collected Neville Chamberlin upon his return to the UK showing "Peace in our time" document during the Munich Crisis. The owner's widow needs to sell this vehicle and is asking for offers of £5k ono. Photographs can be provided if required. The vehicle is situated in Carmarthenshire. Please contact me via my email address. Many thanks, Andy
