MB Spare wheel lower bracket fitment.

Recommended Posts

Just a couple of questions, if someone wouldn't mind helping me out? Got a 45 MB, just back from a year long restoration, and it's supposedly had a new correct rear crossmember fitted, went to fit the lower spare wheel bracket today and I am sure there should be a hole already drilled in the crossmember for the bracket, was this the case, as I have seen rear crossmembers from 'Joes Motor Pool' with a hole drilled, well my 'new crossmember' has no hole. Also I take it this 'repair' to my drivers seat isn't correct?

That seat nut should be internal not on the outside of the tubing. I think all Mb`s from 43 onwards had the spare wheel rest fitted so yes there should be a pre drilled hole however a lot of repro jeep panels come without holes.
