John Sgwar
I m not sure if i was successful in starting a new topic this morning but i ll try again. Im looking to buy a Leyland Hippo. My father drove one at Dinorwig Quarry North Wales about 1967-69 carrying slate from the top of the quarry down to the saw mill at the bottom. It was registered something like Dcc 309e and the second hippo working was I think 310e

From Wikipedia, not always the most reliable source of information, yes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinorwig However perhaps just down to timing given Quote The name Porthmadog derives from its English spelling, Portmadoc, the official name until 1974. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porthmadog and construction of Dinorwig Power Station began in 1974 with the opening date 1984. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinorwig_Power_Station
