Canvas bag identity

Hi, found a light brown canvas bag as per photos. Any ideas as to it's heritage?

12 1/2" wide, 10" high, 2" deep, 32" shoulder strap with 4 stitched pleats in it (adjustment I guess).

Printing inside the flap is faded but appears to be:

PERNUTA LTD.

1941.

GRM1

(crown logo)

GR VI for King George VI rather than GRM1.

Looks similar to the Civilian Duty Respirator bag except it has press studs rather than buttons.

Thanks, so who would carry a Civilian Duty Respirator? My Grandfather was at Weybridge as a Fire Watcher I believe, my father was also there working on Wellingtons. Could it be attributed to either in those capacities?

Any of the civilian authorities, so a fire watcher I would say yes, ARP, CD, Ambulance, AFS and dozens more.

That's great, sheds a little more light on how we came to have it. Might have to squirrel it away somewhere safe.
