Danny P Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Bought this no.4 MKII* P.S.&S Ltd. spike bayonet but to me it has a strange scabbard. The scabbard has a smooth finish, two rings at the bottom end and the button for the securing tab is also different. Furthermore, the spike bayonet goes very easy into the scabbard, it feels like the scabbard is a little bit to big for the spike bayonet. What kind of scabbard is this? Who can help? Thanks, Danny Quote
Chris Hall Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I do remember a story of Bren Bipod legs being used as No.4 bayonet scabbards during a shortage. Not sure on how true that is! Quote
Danny P Posted November 11, 2021 Author Posted November 11, 2021 Thank you Chris, Interesting! Never heard about this. Looks like the scabbard has a same kind of finish as weapons have ... If it is a scabbard modified from a Bren bipod it must be quite rare isn't it? Quote
Privatejoker Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 (edited) Thats a modern copy scabbard, there's a few of them about now. World Wide Arms used to sell them. You can get an original from here: https://raidsmilitaria.com/shop.php?code=52504 Edited January 8, 2023 by Privatejoker Quote
