Mine has surface rust over the pipe, so I did not know if I should;

A. Leave it

b. Clean it

C. Paint it

Or A and B above

Have the pipes sand blasted and then paint with Factory Manifold Grey from Frosts. I did this to the exhaust parts on both my Ferret and Land Rover. Both still look as good as the day I fitted them. You'll need to give it 2 coats and then get it nice and hot by running the engine to allow the paint to cure.

I tried the black version of this paint, called Black Velvet, on the Fox, which has started going rusty already. The grey stuff is better.

Paint it Black if you want Bullshit finish with shiny paintwork, or leave it rusty finish if you want it 'in service' is my opinion.
