Macd Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 I have this languishing in the long grass south of Edinburgh . If anyone us interested in bringing it back to its glory, get in touch Quote
john fox Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 (edited) ? what is "this"? Edited September 14, 2021 by john fox Quote
Macd Posted September 14, 2021 Author Posted September 14, 2021 It's a one off. There are articles on it on the internet. I heard it was built for a airport down south. Others know more than I do. If you find out anything pass it on. Quote
Richard Farrant Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 I thought this was a research vehicle from somewhere like FVRDE, MVEE, etc. Recollect some discussion on this in the past. Quote

john fox Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 (edited) thanks radiomike, now i understand what the thread is about, and lol we are going in circles as the earlier discussion has now been added to by this current thread's author... https://hmvf.co.uk/topic/10825-anyone-happen-to-own-srv-1-the-cricket/?tab=comments#comment-435041 great shame that "Minkey" apparently never did post up the info he said it would take a few days for him to collate. Seems like tracking down Graham "Minkey" would be worthwhile before the info vanishes. Edited September 14, 2021 by john fox Quote
Ex-boy Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 I’ve just come across a short video of the Bedford TM, made by the BBC for Blue Peter. Interesting in itself, but at 6 min 43 secs there is a clip of the cricket doing it’s thing. I am unable to upload it, but if anyone with the nous wishes to, just search for ‘Cross country champion - Bedford TM 4x4 military truck. Quote
Ex-boy Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 It’s amazing what is out there, but sometimes it’s pure luck to find it. Thanks for posting. Quote
terryb Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 brilliant-this was filmed at MVEE Chertsey, specifically on the Longcross test track. Quote

Glad I could help. At least now it’s on here, so whatever information there is on this vehicle is in one place, and people can add to it if there is anything else out there. Quote
ltwtbarmy Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Not much use, but there is a drawing of the SRV 1 in this thread- https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/portsmouth-aviation-s-r-v-1.30108/ Quote
ltwtbarmy Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 (edited) Slightly off topic, and even less use, there is a picture of SRV 5 in this thread- https://www.aronline.co.uk/concepts-and-prototypes/bl-safety-research-vehicles/ Oh dear. Not much of an improvement to the looks of the old Allegro, such as they were! Edited May 7, 2022 by ltwtbarmy Quote
