Hello,

I'm new to this forum and to jeeps in common. Currently I'm restoring my '45 Willys MB. Finally I would like to dress it up like a 15th Scottish Infantry Brigade vehicle to commemorate the liberators of my home town.

The number is MB447525. Does anyone on this forum have an idea about the contract my MB belonged to?

What would be a proper hood number? Starting with M55... or a higher number maybe?

I also have a question about the vehicle markings. As you can see in the attached photo taken in Oct '44 the jeep has something written below the HQ '40' on the arm of service sign. The photo of the lorry shows a 'D4' on the bottom of the HQ service sign. Looks like an individual vehicle ID or something. According to the D4, what would be the proper vehicle ID for a Jeep?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Bas
