I was involved in the excavation and appear in several of the photos. i have over 30 years working in the construction sector on some extremely deep excavations . At no point was any one put in danger. The excavation was monitored at all times from the surface and every precaution  in place. Common sense is a major player too. The photos and angles they are taken can give a misleading impression and be misleading.

I still think the state of preservation is really great, it could almost be left as it is.

I see David Brown are refurbishing the Crowland Buffalo gearbox, and have test run it.

Tank because the local population were told it was a tank they didn't know it's full meaning or saying.
