Richard Farrant
I remember being on holiday in Pembrokeshire in the mid 60's and seeing the soft cabbed German lorries going to and from Pembroke Dock as well as the Mungas. One day we were out and were stopped by German soldiers in a lane and Leopard tanks crossed in front of us, the swept the road before letting us pass. Ex-boy
I was with LAD REME Royal Hussars from 1969 to 1972 and went to Castlemartin every year. The first time I wondered why there were signs everywhere in German. It wasn’t very well known at the time.
Jiver
The only reason the accommodation blocks were so good they were built for the Germans.
Ex-boy
The accommodation when I was there was individual wooden huts with coal-fired stoves for heating. If there are now decent blocks they were long overdue.
