Rick W
Next on the list. I need to replace the input shaft bearing on the transmission. Snap ring is off. Have tried gently tapping the bearing from the rear but the bearing is not shifting. Is it just a question of liberally spraying it with penetrating oil and trying to tap it off. Anyone else had to replace it? Any tips or tricks? TIA
Chris Hall
It should just pop out, it’s not in by much. Is the shaft free to rotate?
Jerry Jeep
place the impute shaft with bearing on the jaws of a vice so the impute will pass between the jaws having removed the snap ring and with a copper mallet drive the impute down it will come off easy when you fit the new bearing only press on the centre part off the new bearing so not to side load the ball race cam put up some photos tomorrow if you need all the best jerry
Rick W
Thanks both. I've decided to opt for a new input shaft, the teeth on mine are a bit worn, so in for a penny, in for a pound.
