Shells, 25PR FZD CT705 , 3.7 Mor Smoke C24B & C24C Burst TC. 4 Shell FZD 117111 TNT on some of the boxes. Ex BEF 1940. One of the boxes has a date of 3.40 on the side.

Thanks, it is what it is, but I have some of these boxes, I will check if they have markings, but they were overpainted, and used untill the 50's but now I can check in the right spot.

The paper lables were printed in red I believe.

I do like the way that you have "colourised" the images, it is very effective and to my eye adds a whole extra dimension.

 

I've no idea how you do it, but it is great, thank you!

The Wehrmacht soon had them up and running.

I believe around 700 Pioneers were left in France .

Very useful kit for the Germans and pop up in many soldiers photos.

WIth five makers of Gardners under licence in Continental Europe spares not too hard either.
