Timmysteam Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Here are a few updates of my 1943 AEC Matador ongoing project, it’s been a long while since I did anything to it, too many hobbies/other projects. But this week was a big mile stone as I finally got her running after 40+ years sitting in a field. Next challenge is freeing off the clutch TC 0447BE7D-CC8C-418E-B81B-B697F4FE9EF4.MOV 4 Quote

David Herbert Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 Well done, they are very nice trucks to drive. I do hope that you enjoy woodwork ! David Quote
Timmysteam Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 Thank you David, wood works not my strongest point but I like a challenge. TC Quote
Zero-Five-Two Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Brilliant!! Bet it was interesting driving with only half a steering wheel. Looking forward to seeing how the restoration goes. Back body looks fairly complete, so at least you will have patterns to copy. Best make friends with a carpenter while you invent a new cab Quote
67burwood Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Fantastic looking project, keep the pictures coming. Quote
Smithy Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Great stuff! What is the history of this one, if you don't mind me asking, former showland vehicle after demob? Quote
Timmysteam Posted May 2, 2020 Author Posted May 2, 2020 It worked for The Showman Presland & Sons after demob. todays task was lifting the body off, Mudguards are still relatively intact for a pattern and the body floor is mainly good still, just sides need new timber. TC 3 Quote
Timmysteam Posted May 2, 2020 Author Posted May 2, 2020 Picture of when it was working on the fair. 6 Quote
Timmysteam Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 Not too much progress but all brake lines and cylinders taken off (every one undone) and swapping the rear winch rollers over off my spare chassis. Plan is to get it stripped down ready for sandblasting . TC 4 Quote
