monty2
New, unused Cab 13 passenger side door, a bit of surface rust. Back in the mid 1970s when I worked at Hughes Auto Stores in Camberwell there were several of these doors without the pattern on the inside, this may well be one of them. No hinges or door catch assembly. $100 OBO collect from Eltham 3095. Is on fb by keith webb no idea how different it is to no12 and now i think wrong side too sorry Edited December 16, 2019 by monty2
Josh_Markham
Hi Monty2, Thanks for your response. Sounds like a very interesting item, but I’m afraid the door would need to be altered too much in order to get it to fit the cab 12 body. Many thanks, Josh Hi Josh Have a look over on, http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/index.php several of us have basically end up building new ones by the time we finished replacing all the rust. The doors are really pretty simple and straight forward sheet metal work. Have some photos of sheet metal work on my Pat 12 on my website http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/SheetMetalWork.html I happen to have my Chevy Pat 12 drivers door off at the moment if you need any measurements? Josh_Markham
Hi Phil, Thanks for the links you posted, have been doing some research. Found sources for most of the catches and fittings. I should be OK for measurements because I have the passenger side door to copy. Many thanks, Josh
CMP-Phil
Hi Josh Do you have the hinges? My Pat 12 hinges were so bent that they were unusable, made some up when I first restored the truck as an expedient but they have worked so well they're still on the truck 10 years later and working fine. Approached the problem from the point of view of a REME mechanic out in the desert. Parts list, couple pieces of scrap diamond plate, four 3/8 bolts for the pins and a couple of inches of 3/8 ID pipe, weld and drill to suit. Will dig out some detail photos an post them. Keep us posted on your progress. Cheers Phil
CMP-Phil
Hi Josh Here are a couple of photos of the hinges that I fabricated, the size of the bolt pin was dictated by what size tubing that would be a snug fit. Hope it helps Cheers Phil
Josh_Markham
Hi Phil, Thanks for the photos, like the hinges certainly going to last a lot longer than the originals, and they still look in keeping. Have been looking at some hinges on LWD parts, but I think they are Cab 13 ones. https://www.lwdparts.com/product/door-hinge-l/ https://www.lwdparts.com/product/door-hinge-l-2/ Many thanks, Josh
Maurice
Josh, they certainly are , 11/12 cab ones are just plain flat hinges
