Wanted FV432 road wheels

threewheeler

Recommended Posts

I have not needed to do this myself. But I believe others on Here,  Have had thier steel rims 'Re-Tyred'.

There are specialist manufacturers who can do this.

It might also be worth contacting GKN Sankey who made the 432 series. To enquire as to who they used / use.

As thier wheel suppliers?  Just a couple of options, should you not get any offers on wheels up for grabs on Here.

I'm currently using Jobell Engineering to re-rubber FV430 wheels.   This photo shows the two prototypes together with the wheel I gave them as a pattern. They're neoprene rather than rubber but have so far covered over 100 road miles without issue.

Hi Andy

The wheel you sent off looks good to me, mine have thrown the rubber off completely on 3 of them and one is looking suspect, if you want wheels for re-rubbering I would send these to you and could use your take offs, my 432 is never going to be a show winner but we use it most weekends just for fun. Do you have a price of re-rubbering.

Many thanks

Martin -

Jobel have quoted me £115 each for a quantity of six, decreasing with the size of the batch.  I'm not exactly short of dead wheels, I've got at least two complete vehicle sets but it's always good to keep them in stock.  How many wheels are you after?

Hi Andy

I have just had a good look at the state of mine and it appears that it's worse than i thought, I have four on there way to me but could possibly do with another six, I'm not fussed if they have some wear and stone chops, the problem i have with mine is they have become delaminated from the wheel. It stood laid up for probably a few years and corrosion has got under the rubber on most of them

Many thanks

Martin

Do we know what the Withams ones went for, out of interest?

I collected my six from Jobel on Tuesday and have spent the last couple of days painting them (Jobel blast them back to bare metal before applying the neoprene)
