The Museum of RAF Firefighting has just added another two Green Goddess vehicles to its fleet bringing the total to five.

This was the fleet with an Op Fresco GG, an army GG and the unique TNT prototype

Courtesy of one of our members we have had two more donated:-

A fully AFS badged GG and...…………. the one below left. We are considering turning it into a Northern Ireland GG complete with yellow paint etc. However, does anyone know whether there is a set of the metal window screens and the hose reel locker doors available for either swop, purchase etc?

TNT had the contract for the storage and maintenance of the GG's. It was decided to try to update them and they took a standard GG, replaced the engine with a cummins, replaced the gearbox, added new lights, sirens and locker doors. They painted it this lighter shade of green and offered to re-furbish the rest of the fleet at a cost of some £25,000 each. I think that you can guess the Govt's response! Hence it is a unique vehicle.
