quick update for those that have interest in the 9.00x16 tyres, they are due to arrive in January 2019.

What, like all those GMCs registered as 1939 in the 1980s? 😉

I know these haven't arrived yet but I have to say to Barry, bloody well done! People have been talking about doing this for years but you've stepped up and made it happen.

Good news indeed, Barry!

I see they have speed rating F, which means 80 km/h or 50 mph, this is much more useful than many tyres which are implement rated.

Keep us posted when they are available for ordering.

Hi Barry Ring,

Have you considered seeing about getting 7.00x18 Daimler Dingo Tyres made using your source?

There are MANY Dingo owners including myself who would buy a few sets each.

Cheers,

David Burr

Hi

I am glad i found this, I am a 10'50 x 16 type,

i would like to comment that I fitted Wallace Wade 10.50x16 (chevron) to cmp rims OK,

I get about 1000 miles per 1 mm, out of them, so they should last about 12,000 miles.trouble being the chevron tread for use on the road, I do not know what track grips would be like, I know bar treads are a bit rough,

i would be looking for sand tyres, or road type.

I thought there was a proposed excemption for historic vehicles from the 10 year rule but I have not kept up to date on this regulation.

Consultation outcome Government response to the consultation to ban tyres aged 10 years or older

Updated 15 July 2020.

We will grant an exemption to 2 vehicle groups. Firstly, to those vehicles that are currently exempt from tyre roadworthiness regulations (including agricultural tractors that travel at low speeds) to remain consistent with existing legislation. Secondly, to those historic vehicles that are currently exempt from roadworthiness testing, providing they are not used commercially. We recognise that historic vehicles are usually well-maintained, are used infrequently and do not travel at high speeds but it is important to balance the granting of any exemptions with the safety of all road users.

Interesting !

I see that the exemption for historic vehicles applies to those exempt an MOT not to the vehicle tax class.

That would be pre 1960 not used commercially. Lets see how many later trucks are advertised as exempt...

Hi all,

just a quick note to day that we are down to the last few sets of the new 900-16's if your thinking of getting some, don't leave it too late. The next batch will be a year or so down the line as we are making dingo tyres next, then 10.50-16.
