LarryH57 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 (edited) I found this colour film online Later in this 7 min film you see an 30cwt truck in SCC2 and black camo - rather rare in colour https://www.londonsscreenarchives.org.uk/public/details.php?id=349&searchId=65843 Edited August 27, 2017 by LarryH57 Quote

Runflat Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 The first (behind the marching troops) was an Austin and the second (in the cammo) a Ford. Quote
LarryH57 Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) Can anyone ID what type of 30cwt truck it is, shown in SCC2 and black camo? The truck appears after about 7 mins 40 seconds Edited September 10, 2017 by LarryH57 Quote
Richard Farrant Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Can anyone ID what type of 30cwt truck it is, shown in SCC2 and black camo? The truck appears after about 7 mins 40 seconds Think it is a Ford E018T 4x2 30 cwt Quote
Runflat Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Surely a 3-tonner? I'd be the first to admit that the Ford nomenclature system is less than straightforward, but many would say this is an O98T. For example here: http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/v8-ford-lorry.htm Quote
Runflat Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 To answer my own poser, this is what one source says: 85HP V8 01T = 134inch WB 018T = 158in WB 95HP V8 09T = 134in WB 098T = 158in WB Quote
Richard Farrant Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Looking at this photo of a 3 tonner (ie long wheelbase), it looks like the leading mudguard for rear wheel is under the centre upright on body side, whereas the lorry in the film appears to have the centre of the wheel under the centre body upright. This was how I came to the conclusion it was a 30cwt in the film, ie shorter wheelbase. Could be wrong though :undecided: Quote
