AOP9JON Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Well I managed to find a new garden feature, I was asked to scrap her but having worked with the old Aztec for a number of years I felt sorry for her and decided it was worth trying to save! Quote
LarryH57 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Do you intend to restore it to flying condition! Quote
AOP9JON Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Do you intend to restore it to flying condition! No its not worth it although technically possible, she will remain a garden feature as it brings back happy memories of being in Africa with it? Quote
chevpol Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I am following your thread on the Aviation forum as well! Quote

Chris Hall Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Will you be able to run her? I sold a Tornado GR1 a few years ago, it only went for £10,000 they're just to difficult to strip. Quote

The trouble is, it is only an ornament and £10k is a lot of money to have sitting around - plus you need a very big garden! Quote

I knew an awful lot of the history of the aircraft and it only needed the APU and 2 RB199s and it would have run, it was stored in a GAS for 12 years and had no corrosion. Space was the issue though, that and pulling the wing pins. Quote
