Hi

Wally - you are always welcome to but in

The side rails I have are

IMG_4048.thumb.JPG.f88253f36c8409dab6888021fab12473.JPG

The "U" section on mine is about 1.125" wide and deep and would accommodate a 0.75" board

Also one has at support bracket on it.

Andy

Tyres are Petlas 9.00 x 16 - from ToTec Tyres

They are a b***ger to fit, yes they do need to be shaved. I am preparing a document on how to do it,  PM me you e-mail address and I will send you acopy of the document (when I have finished it).

RICHARD

Thank you for your kind offer but l folded the new side rails due to the fact that all that was left of the original one was about one foot.

Have you thought about having the rims skimmed rather than removing rubber l only put this forward as l have seen the results of removing rubber from the tyre bead

KIND REGARDS WALLY

Richard

Many thanks for those pics and the dimensions  of the rails !

I have a pair of old original MW side curtains that I don't need , these are the small curtains that fit at the rear corners of the cab behind the doors.

That's really strange that these were so difficult to fit on the rim, I have the same on my Morris C4 and had now problem to fit them on the rims . Yes I used a lot of soap and some pressure to have them right on the rims .  No shaving of the tyre was needed , and the rims are the standard 16" ones.

Guy , have a look at the difference between your rims and the MWC one ,yours has the tire valve on the right of the wheel nut , the MWC has it on the left , and has 2 longer studs . The longer studded ones are Canadian , and are not exactly the same as British ones , can`t mix the rims .

I need window frames (and an other pal) and others as well I am sure! I have original front hoops to copy..again is it worth us getting together to have a batch made and save some money   ?

Looking good......you could always get a job as a carpenter !!...Just wondered where you got the new door hinge pins/fittings from please ?

I suspect thatI don't work fast enough to become a carpenter....

The new door hinge pins are standard Landrover Series door hinge pins (loads on eBay), they are normally sold in packs of 4. The brass balls that the Landrover uses are a smaller than the Bedford ones (I used some of the original brass balls that came with the truck, however I will probably make some new ones as they are a bit worn)

There's a lot of carpentry involved in the MW cab and rear body on the MWD I found it a bit of a Bus man's holiday to be honest, I enjoy the fabrication of new panels and learning about the mechanical side of things more. Your doing a great job Richard at least I didn't have doors to make for my truck 😎
