wally dugan
RICHARD Thank you for your kind offer but l folded the new side rails due to the fact that all that was left of the original one was about one foot. Have you thought about having the rims skimmed rather than removing rubber l only put this forward as l have seen the results of removing rubber from the tyre bead KIND REGARDS WALLY

goanna
Richard Many thanks for those pics and the dimensions of the rails ! I have a pair of old original MW side curtains that I don't need , these are the small curtains that fit at the rear corners of the cab behind the doors. This pics may be of interest: post war service in Denmark

That's really strange that these were so difficult to fit on the rim, I have the same on my Morris C4 and had now problem to fit them on the rims . Yes I used a lot of soap and some pressure to have them right on the rims . No shaving of the tyre was needed , and the rims are the standard 16" ones. Maurice
Guy , have a look at the difference between your rims and the MWC one ,yours has the tire valve on the right of the wheel nut , the MWC has it on the left , and has 2 longer studs . The longer studded ones are Canadian , and are not exactly the same as British ones , can`t mix the rims .
guy66
Yes you are right Maurice, I have one Canadian wheel on the Morris but will keep this one as spare wheel. Just need to order a new tyre for my extra British rim that I have.

64EK26
Started on the cab woodwork... The side rails are very complicated to machine... Fillet block cut and trial fitted and just for bit of fun, in true Blue Peter style, loosely fitted some other bits I had previously made
landrover nick
looking good keep this up and you will be in Normandy next year no problem
64EK26
Fillet blocks now fitted Just need to cut them off square and do the inner angle. The stepping in the side rail isn't seen from the outside and the wooden rail feels much stronger.
64EK26
Cab Floor (apart from a bit of trimming) done and the front floor panels fit nicely (will have to make a new rear cab floor panel) .

I suspect thatI don't work fast enough to become a carpenter.... The new door hinge pins are standard Landrover Series door hinge pins (loads on eBay), they are normally sold in packs of 4. The brass balls that the Landrover uses are a smaller than the Bedford ones (I used some of the original brass balls that came with the truck, however I will probably make some new ones as they are a bit worn)
rampant rivet
There's a lot of carpentry involved in the MW cab and rear body on the MWD I found it a bit of a Bus man's holiday to be honest, I enjoy the fabrication of new panels and learning about the mechanical side of things more. Your doing a great job Richard at least I didn't have doors to make for my truck 😎
