sirhc
I have decided to put my Sabre up for sale due to lack of use and funds required for a new project. I don't really want to sell it but I last showed it in 2012 and it really needs to be used. This Sabre won runner up for 'Best British Tracked Armour' at W&P in 2009. This is one of the original batch released back in 2004 and I bought it from Withams almost exactly 10 years ago. It was restored in 2007/8 with an A1 reconditioned engine, 20 new wheels, new track, sprockets, idlers and new Messier dampers. All the bins, engine decks and external fittings were removed and grit blasted. The hull was needle gunned and given a bare metal re-spray. Turret basket was removed and the floor needle gunned and painted. Turret rollers were refurbished with new nylon bearings. It has done 271 miles since restoration. This is one of the most complete Sabres around, it is complete including drivers night sight periscope, 2 x 353 radios, working intercom, smoke dischargers, chain gun, replica Rarden barrel but genuine barrel trough and flash hider. It has a complete set of track tools etc. Externally the paint work needs tidying up as there is some rust/corrosion showing through in places. I intend to do this before it is sold. Attached photos give a good idea of the condition of the vehicle. I would describe the current condition as being equivalent to a good in service condition. Anyone who has done a lap of the arena at either location for W&P will know how hard it is to keep things immaculate, and this vehicle has been used and enjoyed. It is not cheap and seriously interested parties can send me a PM to discuss further. If I do not get the right price for the vehicle I intend to keep it.
