question CVRT gearbox oil filter

Anyone know if the CVRT gearbox oil filter is a standard part?

 

Parts manual appears to call it a British Filters Ltd 2027. (Who I have just emailed as they still exist!)

There are different gearbox filters. Is yours the same as the engine oil filer, or different?

On this very same subject is it worth converting from the old filter (same as the engine filter) to the newer version with pressure switch? which uses a different filter container and filter.

It was done as an upgrade, so I am sure there is a good reason for it. The later type filters are easier to get as they are standard parts. Be aware that the diesel filter unit looks the same, but has a different part number.

I am guessing it's the same as the engine filter, but I won't know until I get it out... (or do you mean same filter housing?)

Nope, it's the older one.

 

I see the x mod has NSN 2520998150595 which is what's in my parts manual. It's also identified as FV718122.

 

It's cheaper than British Filters ltd, who just quoted me and Marcus Glenn...
