Jake3030 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I am told that Rootes Manchester possibly refurbished my 1942 Ford GPW in around 1953 for Norwegian army use under Lend Lease programme. Is any member aware of that Rootes Manchester refurbishment programme? I am aware that Rootes produced a variety of military vehicles during WW2 Quote
GoranWC51 Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 My 1945 Dodge WC51 was refurbished/rebuilt at the same factory in august 1955 before delivery to the Norwegian army. Goran N Quote

Jake3030 Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Thanks guys-I see some Rootes rebuild plates on forum but mine doesn't appear to have that I am also investigating paint colour-NATO green seems a possibility if still original Norwegian army colour-so I can keep colour as is There is a small 3mm duplicated chassis number on the top bumper outrigger-I am told that is a Norwegian detail-tho I also note some refurbished vehicles apparently had that Quote
