I was discussing the rehearsal with John Blackman and John T (but it may have been Neil). This is on the evening before. I was wondering if it is worth popping along to see what there is to see. But it may be that plod keeps everyone at a long distance. Any advice from the participants????

Will ring the Major to confirm but I believe the rehearsals are open to the public...

Supposedly Mike - but I,ve herad conflicting tales as to whether it will be on normal terrestrial TV or the dreaded "Pay to view".....

(This message cames to you from the depths of Köln, Germany - but I've not seen any B-17's, B24's, Halifaxes, Stirlings or Lancs flying overhead yet!!!)

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok everything's done on the Fox & is ready for inspection, 4 bits of shiny Armour now sitting in the Fort ready for collection by 19 Tank Transport Squadron in the morning, they are going to be dropped off at Chelsea Barracks in the morning where the vehicles will be stored, then on Saturday afternoon we have to drive the Armour from Chelsea Barracks to Wellington Barracks with a Motorcycle outrider escort, just had an email confirming this Neil, JT & Stuart, about a 3 mile drive with about 30 bits of Armour.. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Unfortunately those being transported down on the Saturday miss out on this as their MV's are going direct to Wellington Barracks..

Full report when we get back..

As Lee has said the Fort now has 4 extremely clean looking bits of kit in parade order for HM. (it was a bit of a slog but with the help of a few good people we made it )

I shall post some pictures tomorrow both before the loading operation and during it so you chaps can see what we've been up to.

Sad to hear the lads arriving Saturday will miss out on the convoy from CB to WB but I guess thats how the cookie crumbles.

Kyle we are still unsure as to the rehersals being open to the public but if you PM either Lee or myself with your mobile number we shall give you a call if and when we find out.

All in all it should be a good "gig" albeit we are still pretty much in the dark about things, but hey thats the British Army for you, strictly on a need to know basis.

Hey Lee, how about us taking a few charges with us and scaring the pants off Al Fayed when we pass Harrod's

Just put em in the back Stuart and dont forget the brackets.

As long as you take a bit of touch up paint with you it looks like we might have time to get them fitted on Saturday if what Lee says is correct

I didn't say you had time for maintenance.. I'm sure they wouldn't want people to start working on their MV's
