MatchFuzee
I'm trying to research Cyril Norman Rhodes's life but only know a few facts from his obituary in a copy of a Birmingham paper supplied to me by The Library of Birmingham :- Born 1905, died 1963. Articled as a chartered accountant in Glasgow. Joined Vickers Armstrong Ltd, at Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1932. Became commercial manager at the Castle Bromwich works in 1944 and he may have stayed with Vickers until 1946 when he was appointed secretary of Charles Churchill and Co. Ltd., Birmingham. I have contacted The RAF Museum, Hendon and The Shuttleworth Collection etc. Cambridge University Library (holders of Vickers Armstrong archives but no staff records), The Spitfire Society Eastern Wing, numerous aviation historians and even Professor Carl Chinn who is Professor of Community History at the University of Birmingham but no one could add anything extra.
