US helmets (re-enactment)

Enigma

Recommended Posts

Here a detailed photo of the 1st Div. marking.

Note the corkstructure, made to resemble a few months of age.

Lots of re-enacters use a 65 year old helmet with totally flattened cork, nice but they weren't that old in WW2...

I like the point you make about the cork being too flat on many restored helmets ,it certainly makes me happier with the one that I did last year

Looks good... and familiar :cool2:

Yeah! Thats what I had done for Snapper and I reckon Olaf is going to be busy - had shed loads of people come up to me over the weekend and asked me who made my helmet..........of course I told everyone that I had done it

How detailed are you able to paint Olaf? Could you paint the picture as my avatar? That would be really cool to have on my helmet.

Looks difficult.

I can give it a try.

How big, what side of the helmet and with or without the text?

mmmmmmm blimey so many questions!!!

How big- well too fit my head I guess! Will measure and let you know (inches or cms?)

What side-would it be possible to have it on the back, then Rosie on the front?

it would have to be with text I'm afraid

Rosie,

I think he means the picture you want painted on as a US helmet is one size fits all.

Best regards
