Great War truck Posted September 26, 2014 Share Posted September 26, 2014 I see Jeep blocks for restoration coming up for sale occasionally but they all seem to be without crank shafts. skelly Posted November 14, 2014 Share Posted November 14, 2014 There are plenty of cranks around. You can use cj cranks also. Just be carefull that it hasn't been ground too much, personally I wouldn't bother with one if it is ground past .040'' on the journals and pins. Also try and make sure that you get a flywheel with your crank as some are fitted with 2 tapered dowels to the rear crank flange and some are reamed through parallel so just use caution. Davey089 Posted November 15, 2014 Share Posted November 15, 2014 Yes, I had a problem trying to source a chain driven crank for my 42 Willys , had to revert to some careful machining of the original , happily it worked out ok :-) .
