marvinthemartian
Apparently it is the 70th anniversary of the Great Escape.
N.O.S.
Not wishing to detract in any way from the historical and human significance of this anniversary, but it is an interesting coincidence that Steve McQueen would have been 84 on this very same day! fv1609
A remarkable achievement distorted into an entertaining film. http://www.lamsdorf.com/is-the-great-escape-film-a-travesty.html
RattlesnakeBob
It's a great film..... when taken only as a slice of Hollywood entertainment....... ..and that's about it really . In reality... it should certainly shoulder a lot of the blame for the idiotic belief that being in a POW camp was something akin to staying in a 'teenage boys summer adventure camp' .... .......... the truth unfortunately was despairingly and very cruelly, very different.:-| but!.....as I said ... a great piece of entertainment ..........especially on Boxing Day
