Stevie
Hi Everyone, my name is Steve and I'm a 54 year old long-distance lorry driver from Poole, Dorset. I'm very interested in WWI and WWII having driven many times through the Cherbourg Peninsula and visited many sites like Oradour in the west and Auchwitz in the east and many more in between. One time I was camped across the road from Utah Beach and used this as a base to visit many of the sites along the D-Day Landing area. This year I'll be travelling again with my tent to Normandy on 3rd June and would be grateful if anyone could suggest a campsite where people with their vintage military vehicles would be camping as we would like to socialise with like-minded people. I hope somebody can help. Thank you in anticipation Steve

Smithy
Welcome Steve. I concur with Dave, having stopped at Chateau Martragny in 2009 we will be doing so again this year. The only problem you may have is finding a place. We booked up at the turn of the year and had one of the last spots for the week by all accounts. However it's more than worth a try in ringing up as you never know. Otherwise no doubt the other options will be just as good.
