Billruston
Hi, what colour would the engine have been in my OY?
Rangie
I have been trying to suss this myself. All indications point towards satin (heatproof) black. It may have been gloss when first applied though... I was thrown a red herring before in the shades of eau de nil and sky blue, but I believe these were applied to army recons. It didn't help when I came across an orange factory/dealer reconditioned engine rebuilt in 1956! Alec.
