If I remember the troops on the ground in the green zone found that the DDPM stood out like a sore thumb so started dying their shirts,ubacs etc green and they worked well so possibly before MTP was introduced,one manufactured churned out a limited quantity of these factory dyed items as an interim measure maybe??
