MickT
Hi everyone out there this site i found whilst searching for Humber Scout car details The reason being im trying to reproduce a model of the vehicle my father drove whilst doing national service 1945 onwards i do know he was stationed in Indian and did venture also into Burma as i have a photo of my father and his regiment paying respects at the Burma railway memorial by the bridge. My father was a member of the Royal Norfolk Regiment i also know he was Driver mechanic and drove a humber scout because of his mentioning only weapon was a Bren my biggest dilemma i have is i cant seem to find and regimental unit markings for that time frame for the humber scout just prior to the regiments withdrawal from India upon independence i have even tried via the Royal Norfolk Regiment museum in Norwich Norfolk UK for any info but have to date none forth coming from them As i said at the beginning i am trying to make a true representation of the scout car my dad drove and maintained as such i have purchased a 1/35 scale model of the scout car by bronco models i have over time acquired a digital version of the original service manual for the car for super detailing im just at a loss for the vehicle markings for the regiment whilst in India I would greatly appreciate any kind of information anyone has in this regard. Well that's about it from me for now its great to read and see peoples love of keeping this vehicles as a living breath exhibition instead of being stuck in a museum.
