jdmcm
Hi guys working on my Stuart, does anyone have a source for the caged nuts that hold the suspension axles to the floor or the ones that hold the lower armor and glacis to the hull? Looks like the floor nuts are 1/2 inch UNF and the ones that hold the armor are 5/8 UNF. Any help is appreciated. Thanks John
RMS
Hi John When i restored my GTB i needed a load of caged nuts for the cab panels but could not find suitable cages anywhere, in the i made them myself with a simple tool in the fly press, i had the blanks laser cut by a local firm and got the correct square nuts from the Fastenal in the USA. jdmcm
I have managed to locate the 1/2 caged nuts but the 5/8 still elude me. I can make the cages but haven't found the 5/8 square nuts yet. Thanks RMS!
Adrian Barrell
I just make them as needed. Sherman ammo stowage is all fixed with these, mainly 3/8" but I can do any size including the nuts.

Any chance I could convince you to run me off a few? And how many first born children might I have to part with to afford such an undertaking? Thanks John
Adrian Barrell
John, no problem. Let me know how many and the external dimensions of the nut and I'll sort it out. No first born required, you may have something I need!
jdmcm
Awesome Adrian, I will measure up the best of the ones left intact on the tank! Always happy to trade for parts and pieces fellow enthusiasts are after! thanks John
