Found today might have been a bargain, anyone confirm it is WWII issue?

It says 1943, so must be WW2 ! I would check out the canvas and stitching before settling down for a kip on it

Yes did the Google search and found the legal bits, does it instill confidence in using the bed.............................?

 

Just wondered with the date, wether the QM contract was from August 43.

Contract number so made after that date.

Still very possible its made in WW2.

I think the contract date would be 8th September, don't, forget the Americans put the month before the date.

Made end of 1943 shipped to UK prior to D-Day and swapped by a GI for something better to sleep on (or with)!

^{Not quite a boot find, but a sweet old lady knocked on our door over the weekend and asked if we would like an old tent , bed, and cooker that belonged to her dad, to go with our truck.. She also showed a photo of her family using the tent in 1933. She said it was last used in 1938 !}

^{also with was a great letter from a London chemist , handwritten, with the formula for making your own waterproofing mixture.. Lots of chemicals including red lead and alum...}

Nice find! I got one recently for a bargain price too. Mine was dated on both the canvas and the frame. have you checked the canvas?
