Bedford MW Radiator Cap sealing

Hi Guys,

 

Had a bit of frothing from the Rad Cap on the way home from W&P and Sunday. I appreciate the fact that it was a hot day and a 3 1/2 hour non stop trip, but did notice when i removed the cap that the previous owner had used some silicone sealer!! I assume there is supposed to be a gasker of some sort to form a seal in there?

Fitted a brand new one this weekend on a mwd straight out the box it had a cork type gasket fitted the one it replaced had

a rubber seal

Hi all,

 

I had some troubles with that in the past and did cut a thick rubber seal my self...and as

you can imagine no leaking after that....
