Fugly
Hello Can someone please identify this tool for me , it came with Ferret parts / Saladin parts and it carries the Fv367662 number and part number (9AAD) 5120-99-835-8633. Its about an inch in dia, and 2 and 3/4 inches long. Its described as a spanner and is clearly a tool rather than a part. Please can someone identify it for me and hopefully describe its purpose. Many Thanks

Caddy
Could it be for the removal of engine core plugs?
GeePig
I assume the two pins go into something, and you put a bar through the large hole to rotate whatever it is supposed to work on? Or is there more to to this? Trevor
Fugly
Thanks Chaps for the suggestions, I'm sure someone will ID this very soon.
Rangie
Have you any speciality sump/filler plugs? Marine usage features a bigger version of this beastie..... Hmm Alec.
marvinthemartian
Is there a RE number on it? I reckon core plug tool too. There seem to be four different sizes of tool, 0.325" centres, 0.400" centres, 0.500" centres and 0.700" centres.

andyroo
After half an hour I've given up trying to explain in words. I can show you in 30 seconds though as I made one up for myself when I had my Saladin suspension and wheel station in bits. Simply its used to turn a shaft to line up a tapperd hole so a tapperd bolt will screw in to stop the shaft from turning.

Toolman
I've also got a few of these tools going spare, NOS and sealed, perfect. If anyone would like one send me a PM. I can do them at £10 each plus post. Cheers Matt
timbo
Matt Not only is it the same tool, it may very well be the SAME tool !!!😄 Tim
Starfire
Yep, I'm pretty sure that it's for aligning the upper suspension pins on a Saracen. They are held in position by a tapered bolt and have an oil channel running through them. I used a pair of screwdrivers when I did mine and it worked ok, but I'd be interested in getting the proper tool. PM me to organise a sale. Cheers, Terry
bcoycqms
Hi Fugly See attached photo of my Saracen wheel station you can see the top suspension pin with tow holes in the end where your tool fits. its the same on the bottom pin but on the other side. lowfat
I just ground a slot through the holes ,so I could use a screw driver. Obviously you grind the slot when the pin is out.
