Bit of a bitsa day today swapped out the suspect dizzy for a later version which has improved the running of the engine no end, then swapped the generator for a rebuilt unit which worked ok which will allow me to replace the bearings in the original unit.

My good friend Colin Dix had turned me 50 oversize new nuts to match some of the existing ones on the truck so they were fitted to the off side rear body hinges etc.

Continued to work on the latches for the trap door but ran out of time so still more to do, must remember the camera next time :-D

Having got towards the final coat of paint stage any thoughts on the type and size of font to use for the bonnet number plus I have seen photo's of early mw's in France with the number stencilled on the side of the rear body as well but not sure if I'll add them there.

At last after four years of hard work and good fun it's nearly there, took the wee beasty out for its first shakedown road run today rather later than I hoped due to a week spent in Normandy .Clutch needs to be slightly adjusted along with the brakes .

After missing Wartime in the vale I hope that it will be at Welland by the end of July just need to get more miles on her.

Well, I think she looks absolutely lovely - a real credit to you and your four years of hard labour. And all the better for the simplicity, don't overdo the markings and "add-ons" she doesn't need them! It was a good day for gentle vintage motoring in the Forest I have no doubt. I spent a morning on my project in the garage discovering that two different batches of paint may differ markedly in colour! Ho hum! Many congratulations.

Thanks for the kind comments, on the whole it's been a blast, made some good friends and learnt a lot along the way as for another resto ? No I don't think I'll be doing anything major again I'll start to spend more time maintaining and enjoying the vehicles I have, four is enough, plus you can only drive or ride one at a time :-D plus I can't think of anything else I desperately want to own /restore.
