paulbrook
If my memory serves me right the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society had a very good scheme - worth checking to see if they still have.

matadormike
I've got breakdown cover for my Spartan with these guys http://www.autohome.co.uk/ No connection etc. etc. My Matador has UK and EU breakdown through the HCVS insurance scheme which is a part of the policy. scammell 7377
thanks for your responces the hcvs seems to require you to have there insurance fair enough but im already insured ill have to look at it come renewal time the autohome site doesent seem to cover larger vehicles but your not the first to recomend them so looks like its on the phone moday morning thanks again andy
simonm
I've got Autohome as well, with the Saracen as the vehicle to get home. Note that the deal is, they will organise and pay up to a cost of £1,000 which I guess gets most people home from a breakdown. I tend to keep my journeys less than 20 or so miles when driving the Saracen on the road, but in any direction I am driving downhill away from home so in the event of breakdown I would need a heavy recovery vehicle. The Ferret I would expect to be able to tow (very carefully) with my Landcruiser.
sprockett2103
Ive got my Explorer covered by Autohome. make sure you tell them i must not be suspend towed., cost about an extra £15 a year. They told me on the phone, it only covers for £1500 worth of recovery, so with something big on a low loader, your only going to get 1 call out.
