Andrewvanderriet
Hi all i am a new member from Botswana in Africa, i own a few old 4x4's namely a Steyr Puch Haflinger and a Austin Champ that i am presently building up. i am having problems with the Austin that's how i came to finding this web site. I wonder if anyone can help me in my plight, i have replaced the carb kit in the Austin as it was really running bad but it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. It will only run on half choke and because of this it bulches out black smoke. would any one be able to tell me how or why it is doing this and hopefully how to fix it. Best regards
Tony B
Welcome along. Most of the Champ experts are still a bed , but will be in soon.
ferrettkitt
Have a wander over to the owners club I'm sure that they would be happy to hear off a Champ in Botswana http://austinchamp.com/

Chrisg
The champ starting device is a separate carburettor integral with the main device. you may have a blocked jet in the carburettor might be the main jet
