blue red blue Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 looks to be a great weekend, various reg units there along with loads of mvt, living history and various bits and bobs, well worth a visit Quote
Rover8FFR Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Yep and today is where your uniform to work day Nationally for all our armed services, so look out for some distinguished people in military uniform. Quote
andym Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Not an awful lot there really, I'm afraid. As the sole representative of tracked armour, Chas is doing a sterling job showing kiddies round the FV439. I hope there's still some of it left at the end! :-) Andy Quote
blue red blue Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 was that your 439 we saw come in then? yeh was a very poor turn out wagon wise.didnt help with tank fest being on, we were kept quite busy over on the far side with our display Quote
andym Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 It was Chas's 439, not mine - I just came to stand around and get in his way! :-) Andy Quote
ChasSomT. Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Andy, you weren't in the way! I'm sorry that I 'Had my hands full' and couldn't give you my attention for very long. I know I had a 'Little Darling' set off the vehicle Fire Extinguisher system, and there should be at least two people at the vehicle at all times, but I still think it was worth it. And a fair few £s raised for the Royal British Legion this year. Blue Red Blue, it was your first post that made me realise WHEN this event was. I did see your display as I walked in, Sunday morning, but once I had 'opened up' I felt 'tied' to the vehicle. I will make the effort to come and see you next year - I will be the scruffy git in a dark blue boilersuit! 'Chas.' Quote
blue red blue Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 we came over and had a good nose at the signals gear, all amongst the millions of kids trying to pull various bits of it could be a very good show with abit of tweeking and fore thought, we were hoping they would put something like yours over by us but it wasnt to be:( Quote
andym Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Perhaps we could encourage the Army to do a bit better. Even if they can't rustle up a Challenger or AS90, surely they could find a Bulldog? Andy Quote
