sirhc Posted May 31, 2011 Share Posted May 31, 2011 Dan, What you have is not a spare wheel carrier, it's the lifting sling introduced to help get the wheel on to the carrier on the Defender . It's some health and safety thing which I find easier to ignore than to use. The side mounted spare wheel fits on to a bracket bolted to the roll cage as per the image below.
