Zero-Five-Two
Went to the AEC Show/Bomber County Road Run at Newark today. Lots of shiny civilian trucks and a few Military ones. Few photos here that may interest. Couple of nice Scammells slipped in as well, Constructor and Highwayman, I think Not sure if this one is left from a previous show, or early for the next one, looked a bit lonely I missed Philb and his Matador, but passed him on the road run as he played good samaritan to this one. Belongs to a guy called Rob Watson. Drove up from Brentwood Essex this morning, but broke the gear lever rod on the road run and got stuck in reverse gear. Philb was following and took another chap back to the show ground to fetch a low loader to recover the milly. Repairing the rod is easy enough, but the best way to get at it is to remove the drivers seat and the floor underneath, not easy. Rob is trying to find the history of his milly chassis No 0860 1897. He isn't a forum member yet!! Might have talked him into it this afternoon.
Smithy
Nice pics, thanks for posting. The one that loked lonely was at the Belvoir Castle show the other week as part of a group - Yorkshire American Cars (Yancs), a strange beast indeed!
