Surveyor Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Tony That video reminds me of the series abandoned engineering where they built one in the 1920's across the desert, I think it was near San Diago Quote

eddy8men Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 looks a little bit tropical. bit like a mangrove. did malaysia have M18's Quote
ruxy Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 If it is a Mangrove , and it could quite well be. Then possibly it is in somebody's back yard / garden in Adelaide / Port Adelaide area - just for starters. Paintwork looks just to pristine to be abandoned. fesm_NDT should be aware of Oz possibilities. Quote

Citroman Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) An update on the "missing" tank in the north of holland. They did tests with several ground penetrating radars. They did only find a disturbance in the earth. Later an old man turned up who told that the canadians came to take it away some months later. They first stabalized the narrow road with debris from the airport Eelde. When the road was ready they could get a recovery tank at the position and pulled the sherman out.... so nothing left there...☹️ Edited November 24, 2023 by Citroman Quote
MacStyle Posted June 18 Posted June 18 "another one is the rumour of a tank with a small turret on stainburn moor in yorkshire, this is where the mk2 churchill that went to beverly was found and later recovered by bob grundy and co. whilst the recovery was on a couple of kids came up to the fellas' and asked if they were taking the other tank, this on it's own would not be worth investigating but one of the reme ta officers said he almost recovered the wrong tank. i went to stainburn 2 months with some poor buggars from the forum that i'd coerced into coming along to have a look around the forest but the snow lay heavily on the ground so the likelihood of finding anything was remote, although we did find a safe that somone had hacked into for it's contents !!!" I remember this tank when I was a kid in the 1970s. Stainburn forest, near Harrogate. There was a large tank in the forest next to the main track. Not been back there since the early 1980s so not sure if it is still there. Quote
