Joris
Finally a Damage Report on the Dodge, we are very lucky because not the differential has broken down but one of the drive shafts Replacing them is easy!
ArtistsRifles
That sounds like good news Joris - how long before the Dodge will be mobile again???
commander
Sounds like your Dodge took a lot less to put right than the jeep which got smacked up the rear end by the Bren gun carrier on the race to the bridge Commander
Joris
That happened? Man that must have been nasty, how were the drivers, no injuries I hope! A part of the drive shaft is still embedded into the differential so I'm taking that to friends who know how to remove it. I'll let them take a look at the differential too to check it's status. After I bought a new drive shaft and some oil the job should be finished in no-time!
Enigma
Hi Joris Glad to hear its only the driveshaft although its still a pain in the... :argh:
Joris
I agree, life would be better without a broken driveshaft but much worse with a broken differential.
Mark
Joris is that house in the photo's the one used in the film "A Bridge to far" abd I assume it is the original house that the general was in
commander
The only injury was to the pride of the driver of the Bren, the jeep he ran into was pushed into the back of another one of our groups jeeps which bent his front bumper out of shape on the tow hitch the rear of his jeep was pushed in and the cross rear members bent out of shape lucky rearly there was no cyclists or motorbikes in between you could see the skid marks on the road where the steel tracks had slid on the road , just remember to not have one following you unless your in a GMC or bigger Commander

Joris
No that's a fairly new building. You mean the Hartenstein Hotel? http://nieuwint.net/ww2/images/stories/albums/battlefields/market_garden/oosterbeek/mini-Airborne%20museum%20Hartenstein.jpg[/img]
