Funny enough I've just finished re-reading the Fisher book. Faction is a good description. There is no doubt that deception was used and that Whirling sparay attachemnts were used on searchlights to cause disoriantation of pilots flying over the Suez canal. I have been trying to track down the 'other members of the 'Magic Gang'. not much luck so far.
